Karmaback: Harness the Power of Reward Based Social Promotion
Karmaback is a new type of commercial social networking service, that aims to provide a platform from which advertisers can promote their brands, by harnessing the power of peoples personal social media accounts.
Karmaback hopes to achieve this by offering non-business users the ability to earn karma points, which they do by interacting with the Karmaback system. Points can then be used to gain access to special discount coupons or to make donations to various charities.
The site offers three distinct features in the form of coupons, sweepstakes and reviews. Sweepstake and coupons campaigns are designed to run virally across peoples blogs, Facebook and Twitter accounts. Members gain points for spreading the word about the coupon or sweepstake across the web, with a certain number of karma points needing to be spent in order to actually get access to the offer. Allowing companies to insure they get a respectable return on their investment, without having to give too much away in discounts or prizes.
The third feature Karmaback offers is the opportunity to provide in-depth feedback about a particular companies products or services. Karma points are offered to actively motivate people towards positive engagement with a companies social media accounts, helping companies increase the respectability of their brand, whilst also uncovering any complaints they may not have been aware of.
All these different features are backed up by powerful social widgets, which can be tracked across the entire web, providing detailed analytical reports for companies who want to see how viral their promotions managed to become.
Karmaback isn’t the only company to try and offer this kind of service, but by making sure their widgets work across the entire web, they appear to have put themselves in a very strong position.
The service is free to normal users, with advertisers having to pay a fee in order to use the site to promote their social campaigns. Fee’s are set up so advertisers pay $0.25 per new fan they gain for sweepstakes, $0.10 per coupon claimed for coupons, with a fixed rate of $49 per month for the social feedback service. The good news is that the sweepstake fees cap at $99 per month and the coupon fees cap at $49 per month, no matter how successful the campaign was beyond that point, which actually seems pretty reasonable to me.
Setting up a social campaign with Karmaback is quick and easy. At just $200 a month for massive amounts of social media promotion, this could be a very viable solution for businesses looking to extend their brand awareness, whilst also offering a great way for people to earn special discounts in these economically challenging times.
There own social accounts don’t have that many followers (Facebook just over 1,100 and Twitter just over 600), which suggests the business hasn’t really managed to pick up steam yet. This is a start-up with a lot of potential though, definitely one to watch in the coming months.

Very well put, and thanks for the well wishes.
FYI: most of our revenue and success over the last year are “white-label or custom” apps… something you can’t really see on our site.
We are growing like crazy!
Thanks again,
Harlan
