Psst…Have You Heard? Google Might Lose Their Voice at Facebook
Rumor has it Internet social networking site Facebook has linked forces with video chat magnate Skype to rival recently launched Google Voice offered by Google . Google Voice allows Gmail users to make voice calls online. During the recent launch, users of the new Google Voice technology logged in around 1 million users.
The swapping of Facebook and Skype accounts will marry the Facebook and Skype customers and allow Facebook users to use their login information to access Skype. Conversely, all Facebook updates, feeds and friends will be available in Skype. This combining of accounts and users, has the opportunity to reach approximately 1 billion users.
Facebook hopes the combining of the two accounts will establish them as a leader in their field. Facebook hopes to take advantage of leveraging Skype’s foothold in the international voice market and Skype hopes to bank on the 500 million Facebook users to help with the promotion of their company.
Although parties are mum on the connection, it is expected to be announced shortly. In addition to bringing both companies together it is hoped that this strategic move will provide all users a successful and current means of connecting with friends, family and business connections.
