Do you still read books? I mean not eBooks, but normal paper-books. Well, I do because to m nothing can substitute a good book in the evening before going to bed.
Today, you can love books the social media way (no wonder, huh?). Here are two excellent examples of web 2.0 communities for hardcore book lovers:
1. LibraryThing:
Over thirty-five million books on members’ bookshelves.
For every book you are considering, get access to the following info:
- Popularity and average rating;
- The list of members who added it to the library (for you to befriend, probably?)
- Tag cloud;
- List of recommendation;
- Members’ reviews.
2. Anobii
List books, Share thoughts, Meet people
For any book, get access to the following information:
- Similar books (based on unclear criteria);
- Members having thos book on their “shelves”;
- Book description;
- Groups that have added it to their collections;
- Book publisher’s info
- Book ratings;
- Book price comparison.
