Who’s On Top? Social Media Edition
Once again Forbes Magazine has listed that Oprah Winfrey as the most powerful celebrity on the planet. In addition to considering their earning potential (Ms. Winfrey has reported to have brought in a cool $315 million over the past year), Forbes added the new social media ranking list. This list includes a person’s presence on Facebook and Twitter.
Topping the social media scene is Lady Gaga. A quick check reveals that her 4 + million Twitter followers would tend to agree. With earnings reported in the $60 million range for the past year, Gaga has surpassed other popular main stream pop stars such as Madonna, rated 10th and U2, coming in 7th to come in at an overall rank of fourth, but first in the social media ranking.
Britney Spears came in 2nd on the social ranking list and with an estimated earning of around $64 million, her overall rank put her on top of U2 with a rank of 6th. The top ten social media ranking of the celebrities goes like this:
